On My Bookshelf
Below, you can find crochet books to which I've contributed or authored (one is in progress now!). I also include brief reviews of some of my favorite crochet books by other authors. Happy reading!
Modern Crochet Mandalas, by the editors at Interweave, is the first crochet book to which I contributed. Inside, you can find 20 of my original patterns (including those on the cover), as well as 30+ additional patterns by 3 other talented designers. The other designers and I have strived to incorporate a stunning array of colors in distinctly modern designs. Mandalas can be used as stand-alone decorative pieces, as embellishments for bags or clothing, or as the basis for other projects, such as cushion covers or blankets. Both written instructions and charts are included for each pattern.
Mandalas to Crochet by Haafner Linssen is one of my all-time favorite crochet books, and certainly as inspiration for mandala patterns I created for Modern Crochet Mandalas. The 30 patterns in the book include written and charted directions. They encompass mandalas for all skill levels, from beginner to advanced. Haafner's unique use of color and versatile stitch patterns contribute to some truly beautiful pieces of art.
